Why Fort Worth Homeowners Choose Toto Construction

We’re an independent Toto service in Fort Worth, and we handle Toto toilets, bidet seats, and the bathroom remodels that surround them. Most of our Toto work comes from two situations: a homeowner who already owns a Toto and wants it repaired correctly, or a family planning a full bathroom remodel who wants Toto fixtures installed as part of the scope. What makes our Toto work different is that we see these fixtures inside real Fort Worth homes, on real Fort Worth soil, with real Fort Worth water running through them, so we know which models hold up here and which parts fail first. Call (682) 708-9180 and a live person answers, day or night.

Call (682) 708-9180

We are not affiliated with or authorized by Toto. We’re an independent General Contractor that works on Toto products because Fort Worth homeowners ask us to. The Toto name shows up in a lot of our bathroom remodels, and after years of installing and repairing them, we have developed opinions about which models belong in which houses. Specifically, Fort Worth’s expansive clay soil, hard water, and slab foundations create a set of conditions that affect Toto fixtures in ways the manufacturer’s generic documentation never mentions. That local knowledge is what this page is about.

Why Trust Elmstead Remodeling Fort Worth for Your Toto Construction?

A low-threshold walk-in shower with a bench and grab bar

Graham Stein, the owner of Elmstead Remodeling Fort Worth, learned the trade at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College and has spent decades doing construction work across North Texas. When a Toto toilet comes out of a 1940s Fairmount bungalow or a 2000s far north suburban slab home, our crew knows what the flange, the wax ring, and the drain line beneath it are going to look like before we lift the bowl. That matters because Toto’s skirted designs hide the flange, and an installer who does not understand Fort Worth slab settling will bolt the toilet down tight and call it done, leaving a hairline crack waiting to happen.

We use Toto OEM parts for critical internals: fill valves, flush towers, and the components that sit in contact with water 24 hours a day. For supply lines and flappers, a quality aftermarket part that meets NSF/ANSI 61 is fine, and we’ll tell you when it saves money without sacrificing performance. Our techs are background-checked and uniformed, so the person working in your bathroom is someone we’d send to our own mother’s house. Before any work starts, you get a written price. Not a verbal range, not a “we’ll see how it goes.” A written price, on paper, before the first tool comes off the truck.

If the job isn’t done right, the 365-Day Done Right Promise means we come back and make it right. That promise is stamped on every project we complete in Fort Worth, and it applies to every Toto repair and installation we do.

Common Toto Construction Problems We Fix in Fort Worth

Toto makes a well-engineered toilet, but Fort Worth is a hard place for any fixture to live. Here are the issues we see most often, and why they happen here specifically.

  • Toto Drake II (CST454CEFG) fill valve flapper hardening and leaking. Fort Worth’s water is hard, and the minerals in it settle on rubber and plastic parts inside the tank. The Drake II’s flapper hardens over time, loses its seal, and the toilet runs intermittently. Homeowners usually notice a faint hiss or a water bill that creeps up. The fix is an OEM Toto fill valve and flapper, and the repair takes about 45 minutes. We stock these parts so we can often complete the job on the first visit.
  • Washlet+ Aquia IV (MW6424746CEFG) rocking and wax ring failure. The Aquia IV has a skirted base that hides the mounting bolts. During drywall or flooring work, vibration from construction can loosen those bolts. The toilet starts to rock, and a rocking toilet compresses the wax ring until it fails. In Fort Worth, where slab settling also moves the floor slightly over time, this is common. The fix is resetting the bowl on a fresh ring and properly torquing the skirt bolts.
  • Ultramax II (MS604114CEFG) tornado flush clogging in older drains. The Ultramax II uses Toto’s tornado flush, which moves water in a circular pattern around the bowl. It’s an efficient flush, but it works best with modern drain lines that have proper slope. In Fort Worth homes built in the 1950s and 1960s, drain lines sometimes lack sufficient fall. The flush creates a swirl that doesn’t push waste efficiently down a flat pipe. If a homeowner calls us about repeated clogs in an older home, we’ll inspect the rough-in before recommending a fix.
  • Legato (MS604114CEFG) skirted trapway cracking at the bowl-to-base seam. The Legato’s skirted trapway is a single molded piece, and it’s a beautiful design bit but it is rigid. When a Fort Worth slab shifts, and they do, the toilet moves with the floor. If the mounting bolts are over-tightened (common with installers who don’t know the torque spec), the bowl-to-base seam takes the stress and cracks. Once that seam is compromised, the repair options are limited. We recommend replacement rather than rebuilding a cracked skirted bowl.
  • Hard water scale buildup on flush towers and rim jets. Over years, hard water deposits clog the rim jets and scale the flush tower in every Toto model we service. It slows the flush, changes the bowl’s water pattern, and eventually affects performance. A routine descaling with the right product can restore function, and for most models, that is a maintenance task, not a repair. We can show you how to do it safely during a service call.

In a Ridglea Hills primary bath, one of our techs removed a Toto Drake II that rocked on its flange and found the wax ring had been compressed from years of hard-water scale building up on the horn. We reset the bowl on a new jumbo ring, replaced the OEM fill valve with an exact Toto part, and finished the skirted base with a color-matched caulk line that hasn’t separated in two years. That’s the kind of detail that separates a real Toto repair from a quick swap.

Toto Parts & Our Repair-vs-Replace Approach

A remodeled hall bathroom with subway tile and a floating vanity

We use Toto OEM parts for anything that lives inside the tank and touches water continuously: fill valves, flush towers, flappers, and the internal connectors. These parts are engineered to Toto’s tolerances, and they’re the only parts we trust for the critical internals. For supply lines and certain gaskets, we’ll use aftermarket parts when they meet NSF/ANSI 61 standards, because the quality is equivalent and the cost to you is lower. We’ll always tell you which we’re using and why.

We stock common Toto parts locally so a Drake II fill valve replacement doesn’t require a second trip. For less common parts, we order and usually have them within a few business days. Our repair-vs-replace decision is honest: if a toilet bowl has one small chip or a replaceable internal part, we repair it. If a skirted bowl has multiple fractures, or the trapway is compromised, or the porcelain is structurally damaged, we recommend replacement over rebuild, because a patched bowl failing again costs you more than a new toilet installed correctly. Call (682) 708-9180 for a written quote on either option.

Our Toto Service Process – Step by Step

  1. 1
Diagnosis. We inspect the toilet, the flange, the water supply, and the drain line if accessible. We check the floor for movement and the bowl for hairline cracks. We write down what we find, and we write the exact repair price before any work starts.
  2. 2
Repair or installation. We use OEM Toto parts for critical internals. We reset the bowl on a fresh wax ring, torque the mounting bolts to Toto’s spec, and level the fixture. If it’s a new Toto going in, we follow the same care: correct rough-in, correct flange height, correct bolt torque. No shortcuts.
  3. 3
Testing. We run the fill cycle several times, check for leaks at the supply, the flange, and the tank-to-bowl gasket, and verify the flush pattern. If it’s a Washlet, we test the seat’s water pressure, temperature, and controls.
  4. 4
Warranty walkthrough. We show you what we did, hand you the written invoice that matches the written price, and confirm the 365-Day Done Right Promise applies. Before we leave, shoe covers come off at the door, drop cloths are cleared, and we take a photo of the clean-up. That photo is yours.
