Belgard Fence Installation: The Fort Worth Owner’s Guide

Belgard fence installation in Fort Worth typically costs between $3,500 and $9,000 for a full property line, depending on linear footage, soil conditions, and whether we’re replacing an old fence or starting from new post holes. We stock Belgard-compatible fence panels and post systems, and most installations are completed within two to five working days once materials are confirmed. The usual story we hear from Fort Worth homeowners: a spring storm pulled a post loose, or a section near the gate has started leaning hard enough that the latch no longer engages. Sometimes it’s a panel that cracked at the bottom rail after years of North Texas clay swell pushing against the footing.

We install fence systems that work with Belgard’s existing product families, including their modular wall and fence blocks and the coordinating post-and-panel configurations Belgard designs for residential use. The key compatibility point with Belgard is this: their fence blocks are engineered as a system, not a pick-and-mix assortment. A post block from one Belgard product line will not seat correctly against a panel from another, because the tongue-and-groove profiles and the internal post diameter are line-specific. If you have the original Belgard product documentation or a delivery receipt, the series name is printed there, and we can match within a day. If not, we measure the post opening and the block profile on-site before ordering anything, so there’s no wasted freight and no wrong stack of block sitting in your driveway.

On the OEM-versus-aftermarket question: for fence installation, we prefer genuine Belgard block or exact-spec equivalents from manufacturers who cut to the same dimensions and mix to the same compressive strength. Belgard fence block runs in the neighborhood of 3,000 psi compressive strength, and a discount block at half that rating will spall and chip within a few Texas freeze-thaw cycles. We’ll show you both options with their per-linear-foot numbers and let you decide, but our recommendation is the block that matches what’s already in your fence line.

Signs Your Belgard Fence Installation Is Failing

  • The post is leaning more than a half-inch off plumb at the top. In Fort Worth, this usually traces back to the expansive clay soil shrinking during summer and swelling after rain. A post that wobbles in its footing was either set too shallow or the concrete collar cracked and lost its grip on the post.
  • The gate drags or won’t latch without lifting it. This is almost always a post that has moved, not a hinge problem. The hinges are fine; the post they’re bolted to has shifted. Continuing to use the gate under tension will eventually pull the hinges out of the block.
  • You can see daylight between stacked courses. Block that has separated means the base course settled unevenly, or freeze-thaw water got into the joint and pushed things apart. Once that gap opens, the next step is usually a cracked block.
  • Hairline cracks running vertically through the face of the block. This is the block taking load it was never meant to carry, often from a post that’s binding inside it. A cracked fence block won’t fail overnight, but it won’t heal either, and the crack lets water in.
  • Efflorescence, the white powdery film, that keeps coming back after cleaning. Some efflorescence is normal for any concrete product. Recurring heavy deposits right at the soil line mean water is wicking up from the footing, and the base of the fence is sitting wet more than it should be in Fort Worth’s clay.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

For a typical Fort Worth residential lot, a full Belgard fence installation runs $3,500 to $9,000, installed. That includes removal and haul-away of the old fence line, excavation for new post footings, all block and panel material, concrete, gravel backfill, gate hardware, and a final walkthrough. What moves the price: the linear footage of the fence, whether we’re pulling out an old concrete footing from the ground, access to the fence line, and whether the soil report shows heavy clay pockets that need a deeper set post. Partial replacement, like a single failed post or a three-panel section, starts under $1,500. Each line item is written down before we start: the block count, the post type, the footing depth, the hours, the haul-away fee. The price we hand you is the price on the final invoice, and the work is covered by our 365-Day Done Right Promise. If the fence moves or a block fails within a year, we’re back to make it right.

DIY or Call Us?

You can check a few things before picking up the phone: is the gate post plumb (hold a level against it on two faces), is the gate still square at the corners, and did the leaning start after a particular storm or dry spell? Those notes help us quote accurately over the phone. What we don’t recommend doing yourself: digging out a failed post and resetting it. Post footings in Fort Worth need to go deep enough to get below the active clay zone, typically 24 to 30 inches, and the concrete collar needs the right diameter or the next dry summer will push that post right back out. A post that comes loose and falls during excavation is a heavy block assembly. If you’ve got a leaning fence and want us to look at it, call (682) 708-9180 and we’ll come measure, quote a written price, and you decide from there.
