Boxabl Driveway & Pavers: The Fort Worth Owner’s Guide
Driveway and paver work for a Boxabl home in Fort Worth typically runs $7,000 to $18,000 installed for a full paver driveway, and we can usually start within two weeks of the written quote. Most Boxabl owners in the Fort Worth area call us after noticing a sunken paver near the unit’s main entry, a crack running toward the foundation pad, or water pooling where the driveway meets the home’s steel frame. The issue is rarely the Boxabl itself. It’s almost always the ground prep underneath, the paver base shifting through North Texas freeze-thaw cycles, or drainage that was never quite right from day one.
We are an independent Fort Worth contractor, not affiliated with Boxabl, but we have worked on enough Boxabl sites across Tarrant County to know exactly how the driveway interacts with the unit’s steel chassis and shallow foundation system.
Which Boxabl Models This Applies To

Boxabl’s Casita is the model nearly every Fort Worth owner has, and its driveway requirements are consistent across production runs: a compacted base rated for the unit’s delivery trailer, proper slope away from the steel frame, and pavers or concrete that will not heave against the exterior channel. The part that fails is rarely the paver itself. It is the base, the edge restraint, or the transition strip where the driveway meets the unit’s threshold.
Before any paver goes down, we confirm two things: the paver thickness specified for the site (most Fort Worth Boxabl driveways use 60mm or 80mm pavers, not the 45mm pavers sold for pedestrian patios) and whether the original base included a geotextile separator over Fort Worth’s expansive clay soil. That separator matters. Skip it, and the clay’s shrink-swell cycle will move the pavers within two or three seasons.
You can identify your paver spec by measuring one removed paver’s thickness in millimeters and checking for a manufacturer stamp on the underside. OEM pavers supplied to Boxabl installers are typically Belgard or Pavestone products, but any quality paver rated for vehicular traffic at 8,000 psi or higher works as a direct replacement. We keep Belgard and Pavestone options stocked, and we also work with Cambria and Silestone when the driveway project extends into a patio or outdoor surface tied to the home.

Signs Your Boxabl Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
- Pavers sinking near the unit’s entry door. This almost always means the base aggregate was not compacted in lifts, or water has washed fines out from underneath. We see this most often on Fort Worth lots with sloped grades or heavy clay.
- A paver cracked down the middle under normal car weight. That points to a void underneath the paver, not a defective paver. The paver is bridging a gap, and vehicle weight flexes it until it snaps.
- Weeds or grass pushing through the joints within months of installation. A proper installation includes a polymeric sand joint stabilizer. If weeds come through quickly, the installer likely skipped the sand or used plain sand instead.
- Water pooling against the Boxabl’s steel frame after rain. The paver slope should carry water away from the unit at a minimum 1% grade. A pool at the frame means the base has settled or the slope was set wrong from the start.
- Pavers shifting outward at the driveway edges. The edge restraint failed or was never installed. Without it, the entire field of pavers slowly migrates outward under repeated car turns.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

In Fort Worth, a full Boxabl paver driveway replacement runs $7,000 to $18,000 depending on square footage, base depth, and whether we are pulling and reusing existing pavers or installing new ones. A concrete driveway replacement for a Boxabl runs $4,500 to $12,000, and driveway sealing for existing pavers runs $250 to $700. The range comes down to three things: the condition of the existing base, the paver thickness your site needs, and whether drainage corrections are required.
Our written price includes removal and haul-off of the failed surface, base preparation to the depth your soil requires, geotextile separator, compacted aggregate base, paver installation with edge restraint, polymeric sand, and a final grade check. You get the written price before any work starts, and the final invoice matches that number. Your 365-Day Done Right Promise covers the completed driveway. If a paver shifts or a joint fails within the year, we return and make it right.
DIY or Call Us?
A homeowner can safely do two things: pull a single cracked paver and photograph the base underneath, and check whether water drains away from the Boxabl frame during a heavy rain. That information helps us diagnose the problem over the phone. What we do not recommend is attempting a full re-grade or paver re-leveling yourself. The work requires plate-compacting aggregate in lifts, resetting the slope, and re-establishing edge restraints. Getting the slope wrong means water moves toward your Boxabl’s steel frame, and that creates a rust and foundation problem far more expensive than the driveway.

FAQs

A properly installed paver driveway in Fort Worth lasts 20 to 30 years with occasional joint sand topping every 3 to 5 years, though the base underneath determines whether you get the full lifespan. Poor base prep can shorten that to under 10 years. Call (682) 708-9180 and we will tell you what your current base looks like after a quick site visit.
Yes, if the pavers themselves are intact and only a section has sunk or shifted, we can lift and re-level that section, correct the base, and reinstall the same pavers at a lower cost than full replacement. If the pavers are cracked or the base has failed throughout, replacement is the better long-term spend. We will show you photos of what we find before you decide.
Most Fort Worth Boxabl driveway replacements take 3 to 5 working days from demo to final polymeric sand, weather permitting. We schedule noisy demo work outside school-pickup hours when families are home, and we keep the site clean at the end of each day.
We stock Belgard and Pavestone pavers in the thicknesses Boxabl driveways require, so there is no waiting on a homeowner-ordered pallet and no risk of a mismatched color lot. Brand names you can verify independently, with manufacturer warranties that travel with the finished driveway. Call (682) 708-9180 for a written quote, free.
