PGT Fence Installation: The Fort Worth Owner’s Guide
PGT fence installation in Fort Worth typically runs $3,500 to $9,000 for a complete vinyl privacy fence on a standard city lot, and we carry PGT-compatible materials on our trucks for most common panel and post sizes. Most owners discover the problem the hard way: a fence section leaning after a spring storm, a gate that drags against the latch, or a post that snapped clean at the base from clay-soil shifting. When you call us, you’ll get a written price before any work starts, so you’re never guessing what the final invoice says.
Key Takeaways:
- PGT vinyl fence installation in Fort Worth costs $3,500 – $9,000 installed for most residential lots
- We stock PGT-compatible posts, panels, and gate hardware locally
- Every job gets a written line-item price before the first tool comes off the truck
- The 365-Day Done Right Promise covers every completed fence installation
Which PGT Models This Applies To

PGT’s vinyl fence line breaks into three series you’ll find across Fort Worth backyards: the Pinnacle series (their heavier-gauge residential panel, with .115″ wall posts), the Regal series (a more economical panel with .080″ wall thickness), and the Grand Estate series (a tall privacy panel designed for pool enclosures and corner-lot screening). The compatibility gotcha: Pinnacle posts are 5″ x 5″ nominal, while Regal posts run 4″ x 4″ nominal, so a panel from one series will not seat cleanly in the post rout of the other. If you’re matching an existing run, pull the lot number from the inside of a post cap or check the back of a panel rib. Aftermarket equivalents exist, but for PGT specifically, we’ve found the OEM wall thickness matters more than most folks expect in Texas heat. A cheaper .065″ aftermarket panel warps in direct August sun within two to three seasons. We’d rather install the real thing, or a matched spec we’d put on our own fence.
We are an independent service provider in Fort Worth and are not affiliated with PGT. We do, however, know their product line well enough to match it correctly the first time.

Signs Your PGT Fence Installation Is Failing
- Post lean of 10 degrees or more. In Fort Worth’s Blackland Prairie clay, posts set without enough concrete depth (under 24 inches) will heave or lean within two years. Once the post shifts, the panels bind and crack at the rails.
- Gate drag or latch misalignment. The gate post was set with quick-set foam instead of concrete, or the post was never reinforced with a steel stiffener. Every PGT gate we install gets a stiffener inside the post as standard.
- Panel bowing or discoloration between posts. This is the .065″ wall problem, or a panel that was cut too tight and has no expansion room. Texas sun does not forgive either.
- Bottom rail cracking near the post. Water pools in the bottom rout, then a February freeze expands it. PGT panels have weep holes for drainage, but if the fence was installed with the top rail flipped, those holes become useless.
- Posts popping up after heavy rain. The post was set too shallow, and Fort Worth’s clay swelled hard enough to lift it. A fence that “grows” two inches after a rainstorm is a fence that was never set right in the first place.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

A full PGT fence installation in Fort Worth runs $3,500 to $9,000 for a typical backyard, and here’s what moves the number: linear footage is the biggest driver, followed by gate count, post depth (we set to 24 inches minimum), and whether the old fence and concrete footings need removal. A straight 120-foot run with one gate on flat ground lands near the bottom of that range. A 200-foot run with two gates, a corner lot, and old concrete footings to pull lands near the top.
Our written price includes the panels, posts, post caps, gate hardware, concrete, steel gate stiffeners, removal and haul-off of the old fence, and the clean-up. We bring drop cloths for indoor access points, shoe covers if the crew needs to walk through the house, and a photo of the finished clean-up before we leave. No add-ons after the fact. What’s on the written price is what you pay.
DIY or Call Us?
What you can safely check yourself: walk the line and mark posts that lean, press on panels to feel for cracked rails, and check that gates still swing without dragging. What goes wrong in DIY PGT replacement: setting posts without knowing Fort Worth’s freeze line, routing panels into posts with the channels facing the wrong direction, and guessing at concrete depth in clay soil. We’ve repaired enough homeowner-installed PGT fences to know the pattern. The panel is rarely the real problem; the post below it is. And a fence that comes apart in the next storm costs more to redo than to set right the first time.
If the post is gone or the panel is cracked, call us at (682) 708-9180. We’ll come out, look at the line, and give you a written price before any work starts. Graham Stein reviews every fence scope personally before the crew rolls.
FAQs

A properly installed PGT fence lasts 20 to 30 years in Fort Worth’s climate. The panels are UV-stabilized and the posts, when set correctly at 24 inches or deeper, hold through freeze-thaw cycles. What shortens that lifespan is shallow posts and knockoff panels with thinner walls. Call (682) 708-9180 if you want us to check the existing posts before you commit to new panels.
Often yes, if the post itself is still intact and we can dig back the footing and reset it in fresh concrete. If the post is cracked or rotted (unusual but possible for PGT with age or freeze damage), replacement is the honest answer. We’ll tell you which one applies before we quote a number.
Most Fort Worth residential PGT fence installations are complete in two to three working days. The first day is post-setting and the concrete needs to cure before panels go in; the panels and gates follow after. Weather can add a day, and we’ll tell you if it will before we start.
We stock PGT-compatible posts, panels, and gate hardware locally for the most common Fort Worth fence sizes. If your fence is an older or unusual PGT spec, we order the exact match and the lead time is usually under a week. Either way, the price is written before any work begins.
