Plant Prefab Fence Installation: The Fort Worth Owner’s Guide

Plant Prefab fence installation in Fort Worth typically runs $3,500 – $9,000 fully installed, including the fence line, posts, and hardware specific to your panel system. We stock Plant Prefab-compatible fence components on our trucks and can usually start within the week once we’ve confirmed your model and measured the run. Most owners discover they need this work after a storm takes down a section, or when a gate post starts leaning and the latch no longer catches cleanly. You’ll know there’s trouble when the fence sways in a stiff north wind, when panels pull away from the post, or when the gate drags across the top of the concrete pad.

Which Plant Prefab Models This Applies To

Plant Prefab’s fence systems come in a few distinct generations, and the mounting hardware is not interchangeable between them. The older lines use a post-and-panel channel system where panels slide into routed aluminum uprights; the newer lines moved to a face-mount bracket design with stainless fasteners. If your fence has visible screw heads on the panel face, you have the newer system. If the panels disappear into the post channels, it’s the older one. We carry brackets, post caps, hinge sets, and latch hardware for both, and we can source full replacement panels directly from Plant Prefab’s current catalog when an owner wants OEM-matched grain and color. For an aftermarket option, we stock powder-coated aluminum panels in Fort Worth that hold up better to hail than the original composite boards, and we’re happy to show you samples side by side before you commit. Elmstead Remodeling Fort Worth is an independent contractor and not affiliated with Plant Prefab, though we do install their fence components and keep current on their spec changes.

Signs Your Plant Prefab Fence Installation Is Failing

  • Post lean at the gate. The hinge post carries more load than any other upright, and North Texas clay expands and contracts enough to loosen the post base over two or three seasons. A gate that sticks at the top corner is usually a post that has shifted, not a hinge problem.
  • Panel rattle in the channel. With the older channel-mount system, panels can work loose from the aluminum uprights as the ground settles. You’ll hear it on windy days before you see it, and left alone, the panel will eventually pull free entirely.
  • Hail pitting on composite boards. Fort Worth hail doesn’t need to be golf-ball-sized to dent a Plant Prefab panel. Pitting and cracking on the weather-facing side is the first sign the board is losing its structural skin.
  • Latch misalignment. When the gate no longer lines up with the latch plate, the frame has moved. Forcing the latch closed only bends the hardware and makes the eventual repair more involved.
  • Loose post caps or missing fasteners. Caps pop off during wind events, and the stainless screws that hold the face-mount brackets can back out over time. Missing fasteners on one panel mean the panel is now carrying shear load it was not designed for.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

In Fort Worth, a full Plant Prefab fence installation runs $3,500 – $9,000, with the spread driven by linear footage, gate count, and whether we’re setting new posts or reusing existing ones. A shorter run with one gate and solid existing posts lands at the bottom of that range; a longer perimeter with two gates and full post replacement lands at the top. Every quote includes the panels or repair sections, post hardware, concrete for any new post bases, haul-away of the old material, and a written line-item price before a single tool comes off the truck. The written price and the final invoice should read the same – if they don’t, that’s on us to explain before we hand you a pen. All our fence work carries the 365-Day Done Right Promise, so if a gate sags or a panel shifts inside the first year, we come back and make it right.

DIY or Call Us?

For a leaning gate post, there’s not much safe DIY territory. Digging out a set post in Fort Worth clay and re-setting it at the correct depth and plumb line is hard physical work, and getting it wrong means the gate sags again in six months. You can check for loose face-mount screws and snug them with the correct hex bit, and you can clear debris from the bottom channel of a sliding panel. What you should not attempt is pulling a post or re-hanging a gate alone – a falling gate section weighs more than it looks, and a shifted post that snaps while you’re working on it becomes a liability. If you’re unsure whether the fix is simple hardware or a full section replacement, call (682) 708-9180 and we’ll tell you over the phone what we think, then confirm it with a free site visit.
