Toto Bathroom Remodeling: The Fort Worth Owner’s Guide
If you have a Toto toilet, bidet seat, or washlet that’s started leaking, running, or failing to flush the way it once did, we can match the right replacement part and handle the remodel work around it in one visit. A Toto bathroom remodel in Fort Worth typically runs $9,000 to $28,000 depending on the scope, and the parts themselves are usually a small, honest slice of that total. Most people discover a Toto part has failed the way you just did: a slow hiss from the tank, a washlet that no longer heats, or water pooling where it never pooled before.
Which Toto Models This Applies To

We work on the full Toto lineup we see across Fort Worth homes: Drake, Drake II, Ultramax, Entrada, Aquia, Carlyle, Legato, and the Washlet series (C100, C200, C5, S550e, S7). The single most common mistake we see is ordering a part for a “Toto toilet” without checking the exact model, because the fill valves, flush valves, and gaskets differ between the original Drake and the Drake II, and the Aquia’s dual-flush tower is not interchangeable with anything else. The model number is stamped inside the tank, usually on the wall facing you when you lift the lid. Before replacing with an aftermarket part, we check the flush valve diameter (2-inch, 3-inch, or the tower-style used in the Aquia) and the fill valve height, because Toto’s 3-inch flush valve moves far more water than most generic 2-inch replacements, and the wrong part leaves you with a weak flush and a customer service headache.
On OEM versus aftermarket: for moving parts like the flapper and fill valve, Toto’s own parts cost more and last longer than most generics, and for the Washlet boards and heaters, we only use Toto parts. Elmstead Remodeling Fort Worth is an independent remodeler, not a Toto affiliate, but we order directly from Toto’s supply channels so the part that goes in matches what came out. We also carry compatibility parts for KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone installations when the remodel scope extends to cabinetry and counters.

Signs Your Toto Bathroom Remodeling Is Failing
- Hissing or running water between flushes. The flapper or tower seal has lost its seal. Toto’s 3-inch flappers wear at the hinge points faster than the rubber itself fails, and the Aquia tower seal gets brittle after about five to seven years in Fort Worth’s hard water.
- Weak, slow, or incomplete flush. This is usually the fill valve setting or a clogged rim jet, but on the Drake II it can also be a worn flush valve chain that has stretched just enough to reduce lift height. We check the water level first because Toto toilets are tuned to a specific tank height and a quarter-inch matters.
- Washlet not heating or seat stays cold. On the Washlet C100 and C200, the heater element fails before the control board. It is a sealed unit, which means repair means replacing the heating assembly, not opening the seat.
- Water on the floor around the base. This is almost always the tank-to-bowl gasket or the wax ring, but Toto’s skirted models like the Legato hide the mounting bolts, which means the bowl has to come off to check the ring, and that is not a five-minute fix.
- Ghost flushing. The tank slowly loses water and the fill valve cycles every few minutes. On Toto toilets this is often the fill valve diaphragm, especially with Fort Worth water that tends to leave mineral scale on the seal.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

A full Toto bathroom remodel in Fort Worth runs $9,000 to $28,000. A smaller, focused Toto swap where we bring in a new toilet, replace the supply line and valve, and set the wax ring usually lands in the $800 to $3,000 range, including the fixture. Here is how the pricing tends to break down:
- Toto part replacement only (flapper, fill valve, gasket, seal): $150 to $450 installed
- Toilet replacement with new Toto model: $800 to $3,000 installed
- Washlet seat install or replacement: $500 to $2,500 installed, depending on the model
- Full bathroom remodel with Toto fixtures: $9,000 to $28,000
You get a written price before any work starts, and that written price includes the part, the labor, the shoe covers, and the drop cloths. No line item appears after the fact. The 365-Day Done Right Promise covers every Toto part we install and every inch of the remodel: if it is not done right, we make it right.
DIY or Call Us?
There is an honest split here. Replacing a flapper or adjusting a fill valve is within reach for a careful owner, and Toto’s instructions are clear. But when the toilet has to come off the floor, when the washlet wiring is involved, or when the skirted base hides the mounting bolts, we would rather you call. Water damage from a botched wax ring or a cracked tank-to-bowl gasket is a far more expensive fix than the service call. And any electrical work inside a Washlet seat is not a DIY project: the heater and board sit next to water, and the seat is a sealed unit. Call (682) 708-9180 if you’re unsure, and we will tell you honestly whether it is worth a service visit or something you can handle with a $15 part from the hardware store.
FAQs

Expect five to eight years from a flapper or fill valve in Fort Worth, where hard water shortens rubber seal life compared to softer-water cities. The porcelain itself lasts decades; the moving parts are the wear items.
Fill valves and flappers are replaceable, not repairable, but they are inexpensive parts and the labor is quick. Washlet heaters and boards are sealed and get swapped, not opened. A crack in the porcelain is a replacement situation, never a repair.
Most flapper, fill valve, and gasket replacements take under an hour on site. A toilet replacement takes about two hours including setting the ring and testing. A full Toto bathroom remodel runs anywhere from one to three weeks depending on scope, and we schedule demolition outside school-pickup hours when families are living in the house.
We keep the most common Toto flappers, fill valves, tank-to-bowl gaskets, and wax rings on the truck for the models we see most often in Fort Worth: Drake, Drake II, and Ultramax. For Washlet seats and less common models, we order from Toto’s supply channel and schedule the install once the part arrives. Call (682) 708-9180 and we will check the truck before we head out.
