Unilock Fence Installation: The Fort Worth Owner’s Guide
Unilock fence installation in Fort Worth typically runs $3,500 – $9,000 for a complete post-and-panel system, including concrete footings, leveling, and full perimeter cleanup. We stock Unilock-compatible fence blocks, caps, and adhesive on our trucks, which means most installations start within a week of your written estimate. Most Fort Worth homeowners discover their fence problem the same way: a post has shifted after heavy clay-soil expansion, a cap has popped loose, or freeze-thaw cycles have worked a joint apart in a way that caulk alone won’t fix.
We’re an independent Fort Worth contractor, not a Unilock dealer or affiliate. What we do is install and repair Unilock fence systems the way they were designed to be built, with the right base, the right spacing, and the right adhesive for Texas weather.
Which Unilock Models This Applies To

Unilock’s fence line runs in two main families: the Estate Wall series, which uses a larger block profile and works well for privacy-height fencing, and the Terrace series, which has a slimmer face and is more common for decorative or low-screening runs. Both use a tongue-and-groove block system with a matching cap. The compatibility gotcha most Fort Worth owners hit is that Estate Wall caps do not seat properly on Terrace posts. If you’re replacing caps on an existing fence, we match the block by measuring the face width and checking the underside of the existing cap for a mold stamp before we order a single piece.
For adhesives and jointing, Unilock’s specs call for a concrete adhesive rated for exterior vertical application, not standard landscape-block adhesive. In Fort Worth’s July heat, the wrong adhesive softens and lets caps drift. We use a UV-stable polyurethane concrete adhesive on every cap and course, and we tell you the product name on your written quote so you can verify it yourself if you want.

Signs Your Unilock Fence Installation Is Failing
- Posts leaning at the ends of runs. This is almost always a footing issue. Fort Worth’s Blackland Prairie clay expands when wet and shrinks during dry spells, and shallow footings lift and settle unevenly. A properly poured footing below the frost line and widest at the base stops most of this movement.
- Caps shifting or sliding off. The adhesive beneath the cap has failed, usually from heat or water intrusion. You’ll see a dried white residue where the adhesive used to be. This is a straightforward fix, but left alone, a missing cap lets water into the post core and accelerates freeze-thaw cracking.
- Hairline cracks running vertically through block faces. These show up after a hard freeze when water trapped in the block expands. The crack usually doesn’t threaten the fence structurally, but it will widen every winter until the block face spalls off.
- Fence sections separating at the joint line. When the base course was laid on unlevel ground or the adhesive was applied in cold weather, the joint never bonded fully. You’ll feel the wall flex when you push on it, which should not happen on a correctly built Unilock fence.
- White mineral staining on the block face. Efflorescence from water moving through the block. It doesn’t usually mean the fence is failing, but it tells us water is getting behind the face, which on a long enough timeline becomes a spalling problem.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

A full Unilock fence installation in Fort Worth runs $3,500 – $9,000 depending on linear footage, fence height, the block series you choose, and how much old material has to come out first. A partial repair, like replacing a dozen caps or rebuilding one end post, lands on the lower end of that range. The bigger cost drivers are access, elevation changes, and whether the original base was built with enough compacted road base, because if it wasn’t, we’re rebuilding the base, not just stacking blocks.
Your written price includes the blocks or caps, adhesive, concrete and road base, delivery, the full installation, and clean-up. We photograph the finished clean-up before the crew leaves and include those photos in your job file. If anything on that fence isn’t done right within 365 days, we come back and make it right under our Done Right Promise.
DIY or Call Us?
Replacing a single loose cap is a job a careful homeowner can handle with a tube of proper concrete adhesive and a clean, dry surface. Rebuilding a leaning post is not. The block courses above the post have to come off, the footing has to be broken out, and the base has to be recompacted or the same lean comes back in eighteen months. We have repaired more than one DIY fence rebuild in Fort Worth where the owner stacked blocks on the old footing and couldn’t figure out why it failed twice in two years.
The honest line is this: if the issue is one cap, do it yourself and use a real concrete adhesive. If the issue is a post, a leaning section, or cracked blocks in the middle of a run, call (682) 708-9180 and let us look at it. The estimate is free and written down before you decide anything.
FAQs

A correctly built Unilock fence in Fort Worth lasts 25 – 40 years, with cap adhesive typically needing attention at year 12 – 15. The block itself is concrete and extremely durable; the weak points are the adhesive, the base, and the footings, which is why proper installation matters more than the brand of block.
Yes, in most cases. Individual blocks, caps, and even entire posts can be swapped out if the surrounding structure is still sound. Full replacement is usually only necessary when multiple posts have moved or the base course was laid incorrectly. Call (682) 708-9180 and we will tell you honestly which one you need.
A standard 40 – 60 foot fence installation takes three to five working days in Fort Worth. Repairs like cap replacement or a single post rebuild are usually one to two days. Weather and the condition of the existing base are the variables we note in the written timeline.
We stock Unilock-compatible caps, blocks, and adhesive on our trucks for the most common Fort Worth configurations. Special-order colors or older discontinued profiles take one to two weeks to source. We also stock parts for other named brands, including KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone, for our remodeling work.
